I’m listening to George Wood who serves as the President of the Assemblies of God movement in America. This man is great. And he is saying some wonderful things.
He just told this story about multiple ways he has seen churches go through a problem and then create protection processes to “keep that problem from ever happening again.”
What he said next really grabbed me.
He said that he has repeatedly seen churches build walls to protect themselves from problems they have experienced… and in the process guarantee that ‘that never happens again.’ And in the process, they also guarantee that “Nothing ever happens again…”
He is so right.
We can’t escape problems or troubles. All growth has growth pains. If you build a world where the growth pains are simply not allowed… you guarantee there will be no growth.
