Questionable Judgement, Part 2

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

You know, Friday’s post was meant to be funny — hopefully you thought it was. But after posting it I got to thinking how spot on Voltaire really was when he said “Judge a man by his questions rather than by his answers.”

I have to confess I felt more than a little conviction when I compared this saying to my prayer life. I don’t know about you, but many times when I pray I find myself telling God what he should do. I say things like “God provide here…,” “…heal there,…” “move in this situation or that one…”

Does that sound arrogant to him? It’s like I show up to prayer with all the answers and I graciously let him know what he should do next. Maybe instead of giving God the answers, I should ask him all the questions. I bet his answers are worth the asking.
