So class, what did you learn today?
today i learned through scripture how Jesus shows us how the bible is actually error free.
I learned that Matthew and Luke got some of their information from Q and from Mark. That Mark was short and to the point & that John was content in writing from his own account. 😉 Never had anyone explain it like that.
By reading the gospels, is only proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus walked the earth. Many to this day will still call him a liar or a lunatic, but those who were physically close to him saw him as the Lord and they showed us in scripture who he was and still is.
I learned a lot tonight! The “principle of embarrassment” made a lot of sense to me in proving the the Bible is truth. My favorite part of the learning was when Mark, Luke, Matthew, and John were explained. While it’s true we read the Harmony of Gospels in the Life of Christ class, I learned more tonight and left with a far better understanding of the gospels than I got from reading that particular text.
To close, I would like to say that I was very impressed with the portion of our presentation that Johnathan Goodman gave. I would also like to thank Odell for being our class chaplain, as Dr. Henson said, he is doing a great job and I appreciate his willingness to represent our group! Last, I am thankful to be a part of this cohort, this is a GREAT group of people and I ENJOY COMING TO CLASS because of that!
I too enjoyed learning about the 4 Gospels and how they were written. Like Elizabeth, I have never had it explained to me like that. I enjoyed all of the presentations from each group. I hate that I will not be in class next week and will miss the presentations of the group projects. Good luck to everyone. I know they will all be good. Keep me in your prayers for safe travel to Arkansas and back home.
I enjoyed all of the group presentation. Thanks Frankye for the cookies. I appreciated the opening devotion on Romans 12. I also enjoyed Dr. Henson’s comments and instruction between group presentations. Thank God for a Bible that affirms the existence of Jesus Christ. I love the unity and harmony throughout the NT writers. I wish Butler would have won. Dr. Henson, thanks for having a contagious passion for the church and Jesus Christ and sharing that with us each week. Thanks Mayfield 18 for letting me join your group for this class. I wish all of you continued success and God’s blessings.
I really enjoyed hearing everyones presentations, and learning about how John wrote all of his own work and didnt take anything from the others. I also enjoy how Dr. Henson explains everything and how passionate he his about what he believes.
I enjoyed all of the presentations. I liked when Dr. Henson put on the board Jesus was either a liar, lunatic, or Lord. Through the chapter that our group presented we learned that many people believed and still believe that Jesus was a great teacher but not the son of God. Through looking at scripture and answering the nine questions that dealt with the bullseye anyone can truly see that Jesus was a great teacher but he was also the Son of God.His chosen people the Jews didn’t believe in Him. They were looking for an earthy king instead of a heavenly King.
I enjoyed the explanation of how the different gospels are different, yet similar. John must have been very confident in his faith to write his own way and not be like the others. I have never heard that each of the gospels were written for different audiences. I do wonder if the Q gospels will ever be found.
I learned that God makes no Mistakes. The bible is true is any errors have been made in the Bible it is human error not an error of God.
I learned that it is one thing to believe that the Bible is true and another to be able to explain why I believe the Bible is true. Jesus was not always sweet and compassionate when making a point, but sometimes stern or even angry. If the stories and the teachings of the bible were not true, the disciples and writters would not have put their lives on the line for a lie. I also really enjoyed Dr. Henson’s description of the writtings of the four gospels.
I learned that God, will use every means avialable to reachout to the world, and that the teaching of the bible can only be in err, but by human, the Bible is the Truth and God makes no mistakes.
I really enjoyed everyone’s presentations. The discussion on Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I am looking forward to our meal and praesentation tonight. John was Jesus favorite and he wrote the book of John in his own way.
I really enjoyed the discussion of the four gospels. I had no idea they were all so closely related. I thought everyone did a good job with the group presentations. I am looking forward to learning more about each religion tonight and enjoying the good food and fellowship!
Last Monday night I learned the histor of how our bible was written. Great job.
Also, enjoyed all the class presentations.
